Public Relations is one of the key focuses at the Frankfurt City Planning Department.
We consider it hugely important to provide comprehensive and up-to-date information on current development planning to the people of our city, whether they live here, work here or are simply visiting – and to get them involved, too.
Not only do we inform you directly about specific projects in the city’s various districts, we also provide general information via the Internet, in the form of our own series of publications, exhibitions and, by way of active PR work, about the City Planning Department’s work and projects. We are delighted that so many people from a variety of backgrounds take such an interest in our work, with groups of visitors from all over the world, as well as local pupils and students making use of the extensive information available to them.
A special attraction is the model of our city, which can be viewed in the atrium of the Planning Office, Monday through Friday between 8.30 a.m. and 6 p.m.
The original model was begun as early as 1960. Another section of downtown Frankfurt is also shown here spread across 54 square meters on a scale of 1:500. The model of the city is regularly updated and adapted to structural changes in the city.
