The guidelines aim to define the department’s position with regard to planning and housing, as well as its expectations of the building trade. Publication of the brochure is intended to make those involved in construction more aware of quality in urban design. Foreword to the brochure

In-depth discussions about major issues such as densification, mixed usage, building subdivisions, and open space design were the focal point of the evening. In a panel discussion with representatives of the Urban Design Consultative Council, Ms. Zapke, Head of the City Building Inspection Department, and Mr Hunscher, Head of the City Planning Department, the core statements and issues they had jointly formulated were presented and discussed. After the official part of the evening, discussions continued over pretzels and drinks.

Over and above the event we kindly request all citizens to send us suggestions relating to the brochure.
After a period of approximately one year the suggestions submitted and the insights gained by the City Building Inspection Department and the City Planning Department will be evaluated. Where necessary, the next issue of the brochure will be altered accordingly.
Mike Josef as City Executive member responsible for Planning intends to expand on the topic and explain it in greater detail at further public symposiums.
